My name’s Rob Bullen. I’m a twenty three year old ski racer from Singleton, in the North West of England. My specialism is in the technical racing disciplines of slalom and giant slalom. For the last two years I’ve been with British Ski and Snowboard managed training groups based out of Austria for the European winter seasons. The highlights of those years have been winning the British Slalom title in 2012 and being runner up in the event in 2013.
For 2013 – 2014 I have joined a French based group “Team Motion” and we will be based in the Val D’Arly area of France for the European season. Since joining Team Motion we have been working hard on the glaciers in Europe since June and also in South America for their winter season during August and early September.
Alongside my training partner, French Europa Cup racer Ben Gardet and under the coaching support of former World Cup slalom racer Vasillis Dimitriadis we aim for an extremely intense year exceeding 180 days on snow including race days.
My objectives for this year are to improve my slalom points and to start some selective European Cup events. To help facilitate these aims not only have I changed my training and coaching support arrangements I have also started working with a new Strength and Conditioning coach Sam Kelvey who as well as working with me is head of athletic development at Widnes Vikings Rugby League.
You can find out more about me on this site - my ambition, my ability and for those of you who are ski racing or who want to I will try to add some really useful advice. Wherever possible I will add articles regarding ski racing, fitness, psychology and nutrition with input from my strength and conditioning coach Sam Kelvey, sports psychologist Amanda Owens and head of sports supplements company Team Nutrition, Robin Higgens. You can stay in touch by following me on Facebook and Twittter. Should you have any specific questions regarding my program or ski racing in general etc. then please feel free to contact me through the contact page on this website.
